Ultra-Orthodox children heckled by Temple Mount mob

A group of ultra-Orthodox children, accompanied by a number of adults and two policemen, were harassed by Muslim worshipers on the Temple Mount on Thursday.

The group, comprised of 20 children and 30 adults, visited the Temple Mount, the compound in which the al-Aqsa Mosque is situated, during the visiting hours allotted to non-Muslim visitors, including Jews.

Some of the children were infants. Israeli security forces instructed the adults in the group to take the children inside first. Only four adults were allowed to accompany them.

As soon as they walked up the stairs leading into the compound, the children and adults were heckled by a mob of Muslim men and veiled women. The Muslim worshipers shouted at the group and threw a shoe towards the children, according to Yisrael Fertig, one of the adults accompanying the group.

The Women of the Wall are doing something similar at the Kotel and Plaza, just because the Haredi don't see that should not diminish their efforts to allow Jews and Israelis to visit and pray on the Temple Mount without being harassed and assaulted.

Jewish Youths Attempted to Enter Temple Mount Dressed as Muslims

Two Jewish youths were taken in for questioning by Jerusalem police after attempting to enter the Temple Mount dressed as Muslim worshippers.

According to initial reports the pair are "secular Jews" who were touring Jerusalem together and wanted to include the Temple Mount on their trip; it is not clear why they chose to disguise themselves.

The Temple Mount is Judaism's holiest site, where the two Holy Temples of Jerusalem were situated before their destruction (the latter in 70 CE). According to some Jewish traditions it is also the place where the creation of the world began.

Yet despite its centrality to Judaism, Jews - along with other non-Muslims - are forbidden to pray or practice any other religious rituals on the site, in what Jewish Temple Mount groups have condemned as police capitulation to Islamist threats.

gee why ever would they do that?

Last week, Jordan’s foreign ministry summoned Israeli ambassador Daniel Nevo to protest Israel’s actions in Jerusalem’s Temple Mount during clashes with Palestinian protesters in recent days.

Jordanian officials protested what they called a “gross breach of international law and of the peace agreement between the two nations.”

They accused Israel of allowing extremist Israeli Jews to enter the compound and of attacking Muslim worshipers at the al-Aqsa mosque.

The Jordanians said they placed full responsibility on Israel for maintaining security and peace in the Temple Mount.

Is it not enough that the Israelis harass and provoke Palestinians on a daily basis, destroy their olive groves, destroy their vines, kill them? And now they face harassment from the ultra orthodox on Temple Mount? Is it too much to ask that Israel try not to take everything away from the Palestinians?

Sooner or later a reckoning of sorts will be coming for all the ills that Israel has inflicted on Palestinian peoples. People are fed up, and the more that Israel humiliates the Palestinians will be paid back with luck at the Hague.
