Emotions run high as Arab Knesset members accuse Israel of instigating Gaza fightinghttp://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4202018,00.html
<snip>
"Speaking at a heated Knesset discussion, MK Jamal Zahalka directly addressed Minister for Home Front Defense Matan Vilnai, slamming Israels military operations in the Gaza Strip.
"Your army is killing in Gaza. There is no difference between Israeli or Palestinian blood. Israeli blood is no purer than Palestinian blood, he said. Youre pouring oil on the fire those who sow hatred reap violence. Youre missing the goal of achieving peace and quiet, and youre at fault for it.
Meanwhile, MK Talab el-Sana accused the government of staging a provocation in Gaza, charging that" Israel brought the recent round of violence upon itself due to an unnecessary assassination."
MK Mohammad Barakeh also slammed the government, charging that Israel is being hypocritical in its operations vis-à-vis Gaza.
What we have here is hypocrisy, when trying to play dumb or pretending to be a surprised victim, he said. By carrying out an assassination, one initiates escalation.

WHEN CRABS ROAR
(3,813 posts)1. Both sides seem to be truly blind now.
Unwilling to change tactics, to stubborn to realize that change must occur for a better life for both sides.
So sad.

I don't recall anyone sane ever saying that it was. I does, however, make for really good anti-"Israel" headlines.
Person saying "Israeli blood is no purer than Palestinian blood" = anti-Israel ?
Just curious then. What would a pro-Israel headline read like?

(45,850 posts)4. no Jewish blood is not more pure
but when one takes into account the reactions here we to the deaths of Palestinians to that of Israeli Jews Jewish blood is certainly more expensive or worth more than Palestinian blood at least to some

(38,687 posts)5. Dearth of coverage in Israeli media on Gaza carnage
The Israeli media once again fails to show the impact of Israeli military strikes in the Gaza Strip.
<snip>
"I personally think its insane that on the Haaretz website there is not a single headline or article that even refers to what the Israeli military is wreaking on Gaza, where 23 have been killed in the last four days and over a hundred injured from fighter jets and gunships, according to Maan.
The closest you get is coverage of the homemade projectiles fired out of Gaza in which no people were killed. Some light injuries were reported though.
The reporting, or lack thereof, demonstrates once again the callousness Israeli society holds for the carnage they create in Gaza. You would expect more from the media, however.
It reminds one of the Israeli response to Cast Lead, the Israeli War on Gaza that killed over 1,400 people, the majority of them civilians."

A woman and one other person sustained light to moderate shrapnel wounds as a result of a grad rocket striking Ashdod. The woman was evacuated to Rehovots Kaplan Hospital. Four Israelis were also treated for shock. Damage was caused to store buildings and cars in the city.
