Adelson tells Forbes: I might give Gingrich $100 million

American Jewish billionaire businessman says his support of Newt Gingrich is based on more than just his staunch support for Israel.

"American Jewish billionaire businessman Sheldon Adelson told Forbes magazine in an interview that his financial backing of Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is based on more than just Gingrich's staunch support for Israel.

.“What scares me is the continuation of the socialist-style economy we’ve been experiencing for almost four years," Adelson was quoted as saying, referring to the administration of current U.S. President Barack Obama. "That scares me because the redistribution of wealth is the path to more socialism, and to more of the government controlling people’s lives. What scares me is the lack of accountability that people would prefer to experience, just let the government take care of everything and I’ll go fish or I won’t work, etc.”

Adelson is a close ally of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and is the owner of the Israeli daily Israel Hayom.

Adelson has reportedly given $11 million to Gingrich's super PAC, Winning Our Future, and is expected to donate $10 million more.

Responding to his critics, Adelson told Forbes, "Those people are either jealous or professional critics. They like to trash other people. It's unfair that I've been treated unfair - but it doesn''t stop me. I might give $10 million or $100 million to Gingrich."

The longer the GOP's 'kafkesque' (used the word just for you Breitbart) carnival continues, the better it looks for Obama.

"Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson made a "substantial" donation two days ago to a super PAC supporting GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich, providing a fresh infusion of cash for a multistate ad campaign.

The donation to Winning Our Future super PAC is in the "same range" as earlier donations from Adelson, said a person familiar with the contribution. Adelson and his wife each donated $5 million in January to aid the former House speaker. The person, who was not authorized to discuss the contributions publicly, spoke on the condition of anonymity.

In an effort to revive Gingrich's faltering campaign, Winning Our Future plans to run ads in seven states that vote next month. TV ads, touting Gingrich's energy proposals, will air starting Tuesday in Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee and Oklahoma. Commercials will start Wednesday in three other states -- Alabama, Mississippi and Kansas.

Adelson's initial $5 million contribution helped the pro-Gingrich super PAC run blistering ads attacking GOP rival Mitt Romney in South Carolina last month, where Gingrich scored a double-digit win over the former Massachusetts governor. Gingrich now trails Romney and former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum in national polls."
