A coalition of human rights activists in the Ann Arbor area, working to find a peaceful solution to the Middle East conflict in Israel/Palestine, will present a showing of Roadmap to Apartheid at the Michigan Theater Wednesday night.
In this award-winning documentary, the directors take a detailed look at the apartheid analogy commonly used to describe the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Narrated by Alice Walker (author of The Color Purple), Roadmap is as much a historical document of the rise and fall of apartheid in South Africa as it is a film about why many Palestinians feel they are living in an apartheid system today.
The evenings event will be moderated by Rev. Fr. Peter Dougherty of the Lansing Diocese, co-founder and member of the Meta Peace Team (formerly Michigan Peace Team) and International Gandhi Award recipient.

(12,606 posts)I just got through with another discussion in IP where I am shaking my head at the willful disregard for what the Palestinians are going through.
I brought up how the lessons of "never again" apparently only apply to some while it is ignored wholesale as brute force is applied to Palestinians.

The callousness of that statement is un-fucking-believable in its cruel honesty.
