The Israeli army arrested 10 Palestinians and five Israelis in the South Hebron Hills today (Saturday) while they were trying to reach Palestinian-owned land next to the illegal outpost called Mitzpeh Yair, in the southern West Bank.

According to Guy, an Israeli Ta’ayush activist who filmed the video below, the Awwad family from Umm al Ara’is was accompanied by Palestinians from Susya and Israeli activists to try and reach their land, since in recent months the army has been increasingly preventing them from doing so.

As soon as they got there, the IDF soldiers declared it a “closed military zone” for reasons that are unclear and require no explanation. Before giving the dozens of people there even five minutes to evacuate, they simply began making arrests. A Palestinian woman carrying her child who approached her husband while he was getting arrested was immediately arrested as well.


And this is the continuing problem I/P folks. Israel can declare land owned by Palestinians off limits to the owners while illegal settlements (colonies) are allowed to grow. If anybody with a critical eye was looking at this they could see one thing very clearly. Once these illegal Israeli colonies can grow no more within the confines of their boundaries they will spill over into the surrounding lands. Israel should abide by countless UN resolutions and international law by removing these illegal settlers (as seen under international law) and bring them back inside Israel.

There is no legal argument that Israel can make for keeping these Palestinian owners off of their lands unless it is to take it when they feel the time is right.

From what Netanyahu has said in leaked private chats about the strategic use of "closed military zones" to push Palestinians off their land, and what Bennett openly said in run-up to the recent election, and from the existing settlement pattern and pattern of ongoing IDF/outpost activity on the ground, I can't think otherwise than that Israel is right at this moment engaged in the systematic annexation of the entirety of Area C. While slicing the rest of the West Bank up "like a pastrami sandwich" (Ariel Sharon).

Yes Virginia, this is systematic institutionalized terrorism.
