Over 20 hurt in Hebron as (IDF)soldiers clash with P(alestinian)A(uthority) police

More than 20 Palestinians were wounded in clashes with Israeli forces in central Hebron on Thursday afternoon, after a skirmish between Israeli troops and Palestinian police.

Locals said Israeli soldiers had tried to detain an on-duty Palestinian police officer in Bab al-Zawiye in the center of the city.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said there was a "clash" between police and the army but did not have further details.

Witnesses told Ma'an that after the incident, Israeli forces deployed extra units and were firing indiscriminately. Local youth threw stones at the troops, and soldiers set off tear gas and fire rubber bullets at the crowd.

and from an Israeli paper too, now what is weird about this is first why was IDF in H1 and secondly there is much touted co-operation between IDF and PA police at least there was

PA police attack IDF forces in Hebron, riot ensues

Soldiers used stun grenades to distance the PA officers. At that stage, a 250-strong crowd rapidly formed and began rioting and throwing rocks, before being dispersed by the small IDF unit.

“This is a serious incident. It is being investigated by the army,” an IDF spokeswoman said.

The incident occurred in the H1 area of Hebron, a section of the city that is under PA control.

Army sources said the fact that Palestinian police confronted an IDF patrol is a worrying development.

for some reason that absurd line jumped out at me. Perhaps the PA should try to arrest some Israeli soldier for some crime committed in Occupied Palestine--(wouldn't be hard to find, most of them have done something awful and there's a lot of them hanging around the place)--, and then feign shock and horror at the blistering assault they'd receive for their troubles.

Bonus points for the spin doctors who wrote the JPost headline. Always and eternally, these writers have to make their occupation forces out to be poor little victims.

Are the results of these IDF investigations published?.......If so, where?....Is there any independent input to the investigations?

It’s been a bad week for us occupiers. Caught by the natives with our pants down. Twice!

First, there was this embarrassing moment in Hebron when IDF soldiers were sourrounded by Palestinian police:

But then came the worst, when Palestinians from the village of Kadum threw stones on soldiers and the latter – are you sitting down? – ran away! I mean, everybody knows: As occupiers, showing signs of weakness makes it harder to rule.

But the best one came today [Heb] from our beloved Foreign Minister, the one who will probably take over the Likud when Bibi is gone:

“It is unacceptable that Palestinian police slap and punch IDF soldiers and stay alive.”
