Terrorism and Palestinian Statehood

As the Palestinian Authority continues to seek recognition by the United Nations as a “state,” the world should consider the implications.

If the U.N. now recognizes Palestine as a state without requiring its leaders to negotiate a compromise peace with Israel, it would send a clear message to other groups seeking recognition and statehood: Terrorism will earn you the sympathy of the world and get you your way.

holds true for a number of the Irgun and Stern Gang terrorists -- including Menachim Begin and Yitzhak Shamir -- who survived to be called Founding Fathers and Prime Ministers of Israel.

but one little detail is missing the fact that despite a Palestinian state being recognized setting the borders of that state will take what's that word again oh ya negotiations but never let those little things slow ya down any, seems like Israel's supporters don't like the thought of a more level playing field during the necessary negotiations
