'Children should not be shahids'

Ban Ki-moon says it's natural for child martyrs who attempt to murder random Jews due to occupation. Many Palestinian adults are rightfully mortified by any such suggestion.

Criticism among Palestinian intellectuals denouncing the child-terrorist phenomenon gives faint hope of a shift in Palestinian society • "Stop lauding children who carry out stabbing attacks. Blood is not a game," one Palestinian columnist says.

....Kadman's interest in the current violence has been triggered by the fact that time after time it turned out that the perpetrators were children, blinded by hatred and incitement. Palestinian children, it seems, no longer believe the "norm" of throwing rocks and firebombs at Israel security forces is enough, and have graduated to full-fledged terrorism, taking an active part in the wave of stabbing attacks.

Some of them, in their early teens, have been shot dead by Israeli troops. The media usually conceals the identities of the soldiers or police who neutralize these young assailants, over concerns for their safety.

In one case, an unidentified soldier allowed the media a glimpse into the experience of having to kill a teen terrorist. The incident took place at the A'zaim checkpoint, east of Jerusalem, several weeks ago, when a 16-year-old Palestinian brandishing a large butcher's knife stormed the post. He refused to stop or back away, leaving the soldier no choice but to shoot him dead.

"Everyone praised me for my vigilance and professionalism. At that moment I felt good about myself, like a hero … but when I got back to the base, I lay down on my bunk and just started crying," the soldier said. "I felt terrible. … Yes, he was a terrorist, and yes, he tried to hurt us, but he was a 16-year-old kid. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop crying. My actions were just, but I still feel guilty. I took a life. I killed a kid, who just happened to decide to become a terrorist."

While the soldier's feelings are understandable, the Palestinian, like many of his friends, did not set out to be a terrorist by chance. When official or semi-official Palestinian Facebook pages post pictures of Palestinian babies and children holding knives between their teeth, when young children wear mock RPG launchers and explosive belts as part of a Fatah procession in Bethlehem, or when parents name their baby girl "Knife of Jerusalem," there is little wonder children decide to become terrorists.

1. More....

Jan 2016
According to the Israel-based nongovernmental organization Palestinian Media Watch, the "Intifada Youth Coalition of Jerusalem" recently uploaded a video to its Facebook page depicting an adult asking a little girl if she had anything to say to young Palestinians in the West Bank. Demonstrating the motion, the girl replies, "Stab them, stab, stab." Another video, posted by a Palestinian singer and actor, shows him declaring, "I stab Zionists. ... I exact revenge because I'm a Muslim Palestinian."

Many of the children's shows that air on an endless loop on Palestinian television convey specific messages to their young audience both covertly and overtly, preaching the right of return to all of Israel and lauding "shahids" ("martyrs&quot .

It is particularly difficult to watch televised classes in which stern Palestinian teachers instill murderous theories in their young students' minds. One of them shows a Palestinian teacher in Nablus telling her students that the Palestinians "have sacrificed prisoners and shahids," then asking, "Who has a shahid in his family?" When several children raise their hands, she asks, "Why did they sacrifice their lives?" and quickly answers, "To free Al-Aqsa mosque. To free Haifa. For an Arab Palestine from the river to the sea!" She repeats the last sentence over and over, and the children echo her obediently.

Pragmatic morals

Still, there seems to be something new in the internal Palestinian discourse, cracks in the endless incitement and hatred toward Israel. Alongside the continued encouragement of children and youth to pursue a path of terrorism, martyrdom and jihad, Palestinian intellectuals and journalists are -- for the first time -- leveling harsh criticism against terrorist attacks in general, and particularly against the child-terrorist trend.

The first to indicate this change were the researchers at the Middle East Media Research Institute, who say this criticism is driven by "pragmatic morals." Some critics believe the timing is wrong, others fear Palestinian terrorism will become synonymous with Islamic State-led global terrorism, while others still say the Palestinians must "remain humane" and refrain from "trading in the blood of children."

The most outspoken critic to date is Hafez al-Barghouti, formerly editor in chief of the Palestinian daily of Al-Hayat Al-Jadeeda and a member of Fatah's Revolutionary Council. Contrary to Fatah's position, which encourages children to participate in acts of terror, Barghouti says that "even the Prophet Muhammad forbade including children in battle," and demands that the Palestinian leadership "keep children away from riots and flashpoints. Let them have their childhood. As difficult as it may be, it is better than having no childhood, being injured, imprisoned or a shahid."

Of course, no decent person believes incitement to murder, handing out candies, rewarding terror vs. innocents is natural.

They feel ashamed of these appalling acts, in much the same way Israelis are appalled at settler attacks on Palestinians.

Nice to see Ban Ki Moon & his cheerleading fans agree with Hamas & other terrorists - about it being natural to murder random Jews.

5. Palestinian pre-school girl: “I want to stab a Jew” (Natural reaction according to Ban Ki-Moon)
Mon Feb 1, 2016, 12:18 PM
Feb 2016

A Jordanian Palestinian pre-school girl recently published a video clip on Facebook proclaiming: “I want to stab a Jew.” According to Palestinian Jordanian political dissident and writer Mudar Zahran, the Jordanian King stands behind incitement like this and the children aren’t to blame.

https://www.jerusalemonline.com/news/middle-east/israel-and-the-middle-east/palestinian-jordanian-pre-school-girl-i-want-to-stab-a-jew-16606

MEMRI has just documented that a Jordanian Palestinian pre-school girl posted a video clip on Facebook where she threatened to stab Jews. Holding up a knife, she proclaimed: “I want to stab a Jew.” An adult asks her why and she replied: “Because they stole our land.” The adult asks what weapon she will use and she answered: “With a knife.” The video concludes with the adult stressing: “Oh, you’re so strong, Allah willing, my dear.”

6. Interviewed Palestinians oppose child terrorism & blame TV for inciting

To the surprise of no one.

PA sponsored incitement & child abuse. Child incitement to murder pregnant women, elderly women, and kids is certainly not a "natural reaction" to occupation. Meme destroyed for Israel haters who are willfully blind to this child abuse, against peace, & want the conflict perpetuated further.

http://www.palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=17369

The following is the transcript of the broadcast:

Fatah-run Awdah TV host: "What is required of children during the process of national liberation?"

Palestinian 1: "First of all, the children are victims... The children are deprived of everything considered children's entertainment. Our children, unfortunately, their entertainment is the weapon..."

Palestinian 2: "Our children are required, like the adults, to resist with every means they: with knives, with rocks, with Molotov cocktails, in every way they can resist, they also need to resist..."

Palestinian teacher: "As a teacher, I believe that you need to sow love of knowledge in a child, that is most important. That he should go and fight while still a child - I am totally against that..."

Palestinian 3: "These things are not for children. The children need to learn and live their lives, to go to school, to play..."

Palestinian 4: "I am against children's stabbing operations..."

Palestinian 5: "Stabbing operations by children are negative operations, because they don't bring significant results, they aren't organized. There's nothing positive about it, only negative - that we lose a child..."

Palestinian 6: "As we see and hear - most of the stabbings taking place are very weak, and they do almost nothing to change reality..."

Fatah-run Awdah TV host: "Do you think that the media and incitement on TV influence our children?"

Palestinian 7: "Of course. It confuses the children when they see these things. I prevent my children from watching what is happening on TV, stabbing operations or shootings. I prevent my children from watching. It confuses them, causes them to want to do this..."

Palestinian 8: "What is happening today in the media has a negative influence. It doesn't tell them 'No.' It encourages them to take to the streets..."

Palestinian teacher:"I think that the media plays a large role. Especially our TV channels. Even when the situation has calmed down a little, you see that there are broadcasters among us and known satellite channels that begin to incite. Even if the incitement is indirect, it is incitement. You feel that the child does not know what to do. Unfortunately..."

Fatah-run Awdah TV host: "Enough with this incitement on TV screens, on [Facebook] pages and social media. We must protect our children and must develop a strategy of struggle built on responsibility... enough spilling the blood of our children."
[Fatah-run Awdah TV, Jan. 21, 2016]

7. The Palestinian Authority-Fatah’s Incitement Strategy
Tue Mar 1, 2016, 07:12 AM
Mar 2016
“The popular intifada will continue until the occupation is over and there will be no return to negotiations without full recognition of Palestinian rights. Movement towards a settlement will be achieved through international intervention.”
– Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Authority President and head of Fatah, January 6, 2015

However, as far as action is concerned, Abbas has set clear parameters for acts aimed at supporting this dynamic: No guns and no bombs. Abbas’ model of resistance relies on easily obtainable weaponry – stones and knives. These weapons are not meant to be used by trained operatives and militants, but rather by the untrained – mostly teenagers and relatives of fallen compatriots. In this way Abbas differentiates himself from Hamas and its brutal tactics and creates a facade of a popular uprising by the masses.

...When President Abbas says that “they (the Jews) have no right to defile them (the al-Aqsa mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher)…we will not allow them, and we will do everything in our power to protect Jerusalem,” he is in fact giving permission and legitimacy to intensify the struggle. Within the context of the struggle this is an authorization to move from stone-throwing to knifing and vehicular attacks, as was indeed the case.

“We bless every drop of blood that has been spilled for Jerusalem, which is pure and clean blood,” Abbas declared. “Blood spilled for Allah. Every martyr will reach paradise and everyone wounded will be rewarded by Allah.”4 The meaning is clear: This statement provides carte blanche for violence using any means necessary. Again, within the context of the conflict, it means an intensification of the struggle.

In his speech representing President Mahmoud Abbas, District Governor of Hebron Kamel Hamid stated: “I convey the president’s greetings to you. Our martyrs and prisoners will remain the beacon of our magnificent glory until the dream of the martyr and [Fatah] founder Yasser Arafat, [Hamas founder] Ahmed Yassin and all the [other] martyrs is fulfilled with the establishment of our Palestinian state. We must be loyal to these heroes in all aspects.”

8. The children’s intifada
Tue Mar 1, 2016, 07:16 AM
Mar 2016
When a 14-year-old Palestinian plunges a knife into a Jewish neck it’s the perfect murder. No adult has acted and so one is really culpable. A romantic aura sets in claiming that children act out of honesty and innocence. Even if unforgivable, the child’s action is seen as “natural.” And when photographs detail his arrest, it is truly hard to tell the victim from the criminal.

In the current Palestinian ethos of “the weak shall terrorize the earth,” it is no surprise that the attackers have represented a cross-section of the weaker elements of Palestinian society. For it has not been teenage boys alone who have gone on stabbing sprees. An unprecedented (dare one say “disproportionate”) number of Palestinian girls have also made their way to Jews with knives in hand. The latest trend is for teens to stab in pairs. Last November, a 72-year-old Palestinian woman in Hebron was shot as she tried to ram a car into an IDF checkpoint. But only in the sickest video games do you get points for killing Grandma. If such a weak and marginal person could rise to such heroic strengths, surely her cause must be just. Plight makes right.

I'd like to see at least 1 anti-zionist BDS'er here come out in support of Palestinian parents who are against the PA's child abuse; encouraging & praising Palestinian kids who become "martyrs" for the cause.

Anyone? Bueller?

It just can't be that anti-Zionist BDS'ers support PA hate indoctrination & incitement leading little kids to hate & murder Jews.

Tell me it isn't so...

Human shields have historically been used to keep a target from being attacked (and, of course, this is unacceptable and against violates international standards for armed conflict)... but that isn't what the Palestinians are doing.

They want these kids to be killed. Preferably on camera and in as gruesome a way as possible. It's their most effective PR. That's why they place munitions in schools and hospitals, launch rocket attacks from neighborhoods, and dig tunnels from apartment buildings.

It's why they never condemn Hamas for human shielding, child militants, child slavery WRT digging tunnels, etc.

They'd rather see Israel blamed for everything, depicted as child murderers, racists, etc.

They see condemning Hamas as supporting Jews & degenerate Jew haters can't have that.
