UNRWA employees suspended for inciting violence against Israelis on Facebo

The United Nations suspended several UNRWA employees after UN Watch exposed that they were inciting violence against Israelis and Jews on social media. The suspensions came UN Watch published a report giving 10 specific examples of UNWRA employees calling for violence publicly on Facebook.

UNRWA spokseman Chris Gunness recently railed out against UN Watch's allegations, claiming they were making "baseless allegations about anti-semitism" and appealed to journalists to ignore the report.

However, now Gunness's fears seem to have come true as UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on Thursday announced that the UNRWA staff members inciting anti-Semitic and anti-Israel violence on Facebook "have been subject to both remedial and disciplinary action, including suspension and loss of pay." He noted that UNRWA worked with a legal team at Facebook to remove 90 pages of those who falsely claimed to be current UNRWA employees and published violent anti-Semitic posts.

Nevertheless, while I don't trust the article nor UN Watch, I would really like to know what UNRWA's investigation uncovered.

You'll have to hunt for this down the page in the link below.

Already, working closely with Facebook’s legal team, UNRWA has brought about the removal of more than 90 imposter or unauthorized Facebook pages. In some cases, it has determined the alleged ‘UNRWA staff’ are not in fact UNRWA employees or are no longer UNRWA employees. However, and very regrettably, in a number of cases so far, the Agency has found staff Facebook postings to be in violation of its social media rules. These postings have been removed and the staff have been subject to both remedial and disciplinary action, including suspension and loss of pay. The remaining allegations are under assessment.

Notice only the Jewish media is covering this while all Western outlets are censoring it?

Here's UNWRA's Chris Gunness trying to cover it up, attacking UN Watch...

That asshole should be fired. All UNWRA workers inciting hate and violence vs. Jews should be shitcanned. Do you agree?

Now why is this not newsworthy? Why just the Jewish press covering it? This is big.

Where are all the pro-BDS anti-racists who cry foul against all forms of racism - including antisemitism? Are they on vacation?

antisemitism. The UN doesn't care either. It's why the UN has so little credibility these days. They're useless.

has to make a special trip to Jerusalem (we saw him and his entourage at the King David Hotel) because 10 countries are trying their best to start a fucking war instead of trying to take care of what's happening to the Syrians, the Kurds, the Yazidis, etc., you know they've completely lost their way. They should have told those 10 countries to fuck themselves....sideways.

1. The UN has buried this story in a press release - no further details. No firings.
2. The UNRWA spokesman denied this was happening and attacked the accusers rather than taking claims seriously. No actions taken against him.
3. The mainstream press hasn't devoted one line to this despite mass coverage in Jewish media, including Israeli, where there are more MSM press per capita in Israel than any other country in the world. IOW, they couldn't possibly miss this one.
4. NGO silence as well. No surprise given, for example, Amnesty International's refusal to take on anti-Semitism specifically.

This is a huge scandal. Fun fact is that things like this have been going on for years now. This is just a recent example.

Only the Jewish media is covering this.

I could understand not obsessing over this if there were no attacks going on - that would still be bad - but the attacks continue and inciting more on social media just fuels the fire.

I'll answer yours:

Jews should have every right to live inside a future Palestinian state, provided they disarm, pay taxes to the Palestinian state, and be fully bound by the laws of the Palestinian state, knowing they will not have the IDF to protect them.

Now answer my question: is posting articles explicitly calling for the ethnic cleansing of Arabs hateful incitement in your view?

YES OR NO?

Gravely concerned about the deterioration of the situation in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina owing to intensified aggressive acts by the Serbian and Montenegrin forces to acquire more territories by force, characterized by a consistent pattern of gross and systematic violations of human rights, a burgeoning refugee population resulting from mass expulsions of defenceless civilians from their homes and the existence in Serbian and Montenegrin controlled areas of concentration camps and detention centres, in pursuit of the abhorrent policy of "ethnic cleansing", which is a form of genocide, ...

UN Resolution 47/121.

You posted an article calling for Israel to do to the Palestinians what the Serbians did to the Bosnians.

In case you wonder why no one to the left of Mike Huckabee takes your fake outrage seriously.

You couldn't even show any outrage for Hamas' child militants, even though you see yourself as pro-Palestinian....as someone who cares for the human rights of all Palestinian children.

The murderers of the three Jewish boys are still at large, and — oh yes — in the case of Muhammad Abu Khdeir, the Arab boy who had gasoline poured over him, and was burned alive. The three suspects are Jews. No further details have been released as yet.

The cold-blooded depravity of this crime makes it stand out, even in the context of the Jewish-Arab conflict. I would happily put a noose on the necks of the killers myself (I would feel this way whether they were Jews or Arabs). The fact — assuming that it is determined that they are guilty — that Jews did this is shocking.

http://www.jewishpress.com/blogs/fresno-zionism/a-very-bad-weekend/2014/07/06/

That's the same guy who wrote the article about ethnic cleansing.

David Duke would never write that about the murder of Jews, nor would Meir Kahane write anything like this about dead Palestinian kids.

That's the opposite of incitement. It would be nice if the UNWRA employees were writing that kind of stuff on their Facebooks rather than calling for the cold-blooded murder of Jews.
