Abbas: Israelis have no right to desecrate our holy sites with their filthy feet

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday that the Palestinians wouldn’t allow Israelis to “desecrate” Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Referring to the tensions surrounding visits by Jews to the Temple Mount, Abbas said: “Al-Aksa is ours and so is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. They have no right to desecrate them with their filthy feet. We won’t allow them to do so and we will do whatever we can to defend Jerusalem.”

Abbas was speaking in his office in Ramallah during a meeting with east Jerusalem activists.

Abbas said that the Palestinians were determined to prevent Israel from passing its scheme to “divide” the Aksa Mosque compound. “There will be no Palestinian state without Jerusalem,” he stressed. “We are in Jerusalem and we will stay in it to defend our Islamic and Christian holy sites. We’re not going to leave our country.”

Everyone has them. Jews wash them.

Jews are desecration - this from the head of state and partner for peace. Hooray! Well, anyone can say anything about Israelis and Jews these days and no good person will take offense or take note.

Wonder how DU, Obama, etc. would react if Netanyahu said the same about Palestinians.

EDIT: "Good person" above is sarcastic. Don't want a hide for having something that someone will interpret in an obviously wrong way.

Muslims have to wash their feet outside before entering a mosque ....not doing so is a desecration.

He never said " Jews " .....he said " Israelis have no right to desecrate our holy sites with their filthy feet " .

The Palestinian side makes statements like this all the time, but they are only covered in English in sources that are "dodgy" so they can just be dismissed.

I'm sure you could find a few juicy Palestinian quotes if you want...

Ayelet Shaked (Israeli Justice Minister) on Palestinians:
"They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there."

MK Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan (Israeli deputy Defence Minister)
“(Palestinians) are beasts, they are not human.”

Naftali Bennett, (Israel's Minister of Education)

They speak for Israeli zionism through their words and actions, and it is not a pretty sight.

But, no, it is not my wish. My wish would be for sanity in Israeli government and not illegal-bigot-colonists calling the shots.

I don't know about you, but I'm still waiting to find out whether there's even one leader from all of BDS who isn't a bigot. I think I'll be waiting a while for that one...

And yet, 3 whackjobs from Israel's government represent Israel & Zionism....

Same as Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, & Donald Trump obviously representing the US government.

of the woefully misinformed.

Those three wackjobs are IN the Israeli government.

Cruise and Paul represent their constituents in congress.

A valid comparison would be if you compared the three wackjobs to members of the cabinet: in charge of policy. Do you understand how government works let alone how to make a valid comparison?

And, yes, once again you attempt, poorly I might add, to suggest that BDS needs leadership for you to attack. What you apoarently miss every time is that a global movement doesn't need a leader when it encompases so many people.

That is what drove the right wingers crazy about OWS. They desperately needed a leader as well to disgrace, shira, but it was a movement of so many people that were pissed off at Wall Street.

So in that same way, the world is pissed at Israel, the apartheid state. It doesn't need leadership since so many people are now speaking out against Israel and its right wing leaders; who have coopted zionisn for their own dark plans.

I took a look at your "evidence" and I didn't feel convinced.

Abbas has already changed his position on the Holocaust, he knows it happened, he was told about it, repeatedly. Then there's a video from PMW - they're useless, they make faulty translations all the time. And yes, Palestinian and Israeli textbooks are pretty much the same, even though the Palestinians are actually the ones trying to improve them...

I don't even understand what you're trying to prove with the "apes & pigs" thing, at best you could prove that some Palestinians display negative attitudes towards Jews - but some Israelis display the same attitudes against Palestinians.

And finally there's an article about Abbas not wanting a single Israeli in the Palestinian state. It seems pretty clear to me that he means those being there illegally, either as settlers or part of the occupying force. All other Israelis are probably welcome to visit whenever they like.

If this is all you can come up with, your argument is pretty weak.

twisted view of what winning looks like when you claim that "some" Palestinians have disgusting views of Jews WHEN THEY'RE LEARNING THIS IN THEIR SCHOOLS. If you think that's weak, I seriously feel sorry for you. And your interpretation of what Abbas said is comical although I don't blame you for trying to pretend otherwise - you'd have to actually be fair about your disapproval and you're obviously completely unable to do that. You are simply not being honest (with yourself or anyone here) or simply don't care what the Palestinians say. Your opinion has become worthless to me.

He was not referring to the compound area ....or Temple Mount if you prefer ....he was referring to the mosque :

ref : ........

Police proceeded to close the doors of the southern mosque with "chains and steels," witnesses said, adding that during the ensuing clashes with Palestinian worshipers they entered the holy site. Witnesses said that heavily-armed Israeli forces "tread on the carpets with their military boots until they reached Saladin's Minbar (pulpit)."

Source: http://www.imemc.org/article/73028

Circumstances aside .....seriously , would you enter a church or synagogue without following the rules of entry such as dress code head covering etc ....if you want to visit a mosque you have to remove your shoes .

Comments like yours above do nothing but perpetuate the hatred .....try understanding and respecting other faiths and their customs .....peace will come when we learn to live together .

He said nothing about the mosque. Only the Temple Mount. I appreciate you wanting to qualify what YOU think he SHOULD have said but that's not being honest.

And I've never entered that mosque although I've been on the mount many times. Simply no desire.

It was my very first visit to Israel (almost 30 years ago) - I even had taken off my shoes and put them in my trusty backpack- but there was a group nearby who looked at us with such hostility, we all looked at each other and said no - we obviously we weren't wanted there so I never wanted to go back. That mosque - to me - represents only a desire to remove Jewish history from Jerusalem.
