http://972mag.com/israeli-right-renews-its-fight-on-funding-for-human-rights-orgs/105989/Legislative attacks on EU funding of human rights activities could backfire by forcing the Europeans to revisit the basis for its entire economic relationship with Israel something that not even BDS has succeeded at accomplishing.
The Israeli Right is once again seeking to introduce legislation that would limit the ability of human rights and anti-occupation organizations to seek funding abroad. As part of coalition negotiations with Prime Minister Netanyahu, Naftali Bennetts Jewish Home party is demanding that foreign-government funding of local institutions require approval by the Defense Ministry and the Knessets powerful Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. The next government is unlikely to adopt Bennetts demand as policy, but some softer version may very well reach the Knesset floor, and even gain the necessary majority to become law.

But you can't acknowledge that.
Why bring up the criteria in the 1st place if you're employing such a double-standard?

(42,641 posts)it is Israel that has stolen most of Palestine. Israel that attacks hospitals, schools, and homes in Gaza. Israeli actions are often followed by Palestinian reactions.
A classic action/reaction situation, but in this case, the Palestinian reaction is condemned by you while the initial Israeli action is ignored.
But eventually reality has a way of intruding on even the most revisionist of historical fantasy.

(30,109 posts)Palestine 100 years ago consisted of Jordan as well. That's around 75% of Palestine right there. How do you get that Israel has stolen most of Palestine? Aside from the fact Palestine has never been a sovereign state, with no Palestinian nationalist leaders, etc.
Hamas shouldn't purposely use civilian areas to fire at Israel or store their weapons, hide their militants, etc. I know you don't agree b/c for some reason Hamas deserves a free pass from its war crimes and its obvious desire to maximize Palestinian casualties. Because Israel must be blamed while pretending Hamas has nothing to do with any Palestinian casualties.
Like the Gaza war of 2014? 2012? 2009? Hamas' rocket barrages resulted from Israel doing...what?
You must be kidding.
You have cause and effect backwards.
Again, you brought up criteria for a realistic definition of genocide. You accused Israel of meeting the criteria even though Hamas is a MUCH better fit, and yet Hamas is not genocidal in your opinion. And you talk about revisionist, historical fantasy?

MK says advocating for two-state solution is treason
Freshman Jewish Home MK Yinon Magal accuses a former Israeli Foreign Ministry director of committing a capital offense: advocating for a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Right-wing elements in Israel have long claimed that the two-state solution is national suicide. Logically, it follows that advocating for such an outcome would constitute treason.
That was exactly the view espoused by former journalist and high-profile freshman Knesset Member Yinon Magal of Naftali Bennetts Jewish Home party on Tuesday.
By advocating for a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital Liel is encouraging ceding sovereign territory that the world doesnt recognize as Israels, to a state that Israel doesnt recognize as existing. At least that is Magals logic.
In addition to the fact that, in my opinion it is reckless behavior, it violates section 97(b) of the penal code, Magal concluded.
Section 97(b) is the first subsection defining treason in the Israeli penal code.
If a person commits an act liable to remove any area from the sovereignty of the State or to place it under the sovereignty of a foreign state with the intention to bring that about, then he is liable to the death penalty or to life imprisonment.
Magal clarifies that he does not think Liel should be sentenced to death, but is adamant that he has committed treason for advancing the two-state solution.
Because of the drawn-out process of forming a new coalition there have not been many opportunities for freshman MKs to make headlines since the elections. But it is indicative of the type of rhetoric we can expect to see over the next four years in the fourth Netanyahu government.
