(23,099 posts)1. I saw King Tut's coffin and other artifacts at the DeYoung Museum in SF around 40 years ago.
It took me months to be able to get tickets and the lines were sooo long but it was so totally worth it. It was amazing, most of the treasures were in near pristine shape from what I could tell. Everything was back behind ropes with lots of space between them and the crowd and there were tons of guards there, but now am thinking that glass would probably have been a lot better protector of these invaluable antiquities.
