Trump invites Kim Jong Un to impromptu summit at DMZ via twitter

After some very important meetings, including my meeting with President Xi of China, I will be leaving Japan for South Korea (with President Moon). While there, if Chairman Kim of North Korea sees this, I would meet him at the Border/DMZ just to shake his hand and say Hello(?)!

I wrote a couple of days ago about how this rumor began in South Korea. It was denied by an unnamed senior official in the white house according to a Reuters report. But here it is again in a Trump twitter several hours ago. I even took a guess what the interesting comment might be in Trump's letter to Kim:

It isn't clear who put the underlines on the bottom of the page. It's so frustrating, because it almost seems as if it might be possible to see through the paper and read the letter if one had the right specialized equipment. The message could be something like, "I'll be in the Joint Security Area on the 29th, have your people call my people. Hope to see you there. " Maybe this is an illusion like so many things concerning US- North Korean relations. The rife speculation and guesswork is indicative of the importance of this matter to South Koreans.

2. Choi Son Hui responded for Kim

We didn't get a formal invitation to meet with Trump, if we did, it might be possible. This response was made late last night according to YTN news South Korea this morning. The response came about 5 hours after Trump posted his twitter "invitation" to meet at the DMZ.
