At Extinction Radio, we bear witness to the sixth great extinction event currently unfolding by welcoming and reflecting a diversity of viewpoints on how, when and why extinction is occurring. Using a mix of formats including interviews, presentations, poetry and music, we offer wisdom and compassion on navigating the demise of humanity and non-human species as well as advice and encouragement on living fully and with full awareness until we can no longer go on.
Before our regular show, I will talk about the recent anomaly in CO levels shown in the Earh.nullschool.net model. Afterward, we will feature an interview with Penn State University meteorologist Jenni Evans, Ph.D. She will talk about the very rare recent winter hurricanes in the northern hemisphere. In addition, she will tell us about her experiences flying into hurricanes in airplanes as a researcher.
John Compost Cossham will interview Sandy Irving on the floor of the UK and Wales Green Party spring meeting. In her Dispatch from the Endocene, Gail Zawacki calls out Hollywood stars who pay lip service to the need for reduction in use of fossil fuels while still using private jets for transportation and who incur a greater carbon footprint than that of most of our listeners combined. Carolyn Baker will discuss death and coming to grips with our extinction. Lisa White, our resident Astrologer and Psychic will tell us how she became aware of NTHE and a contributor to Extinction Radio. Michael Adzema will talk about his new book and the making of One Centaur and All about a Generation. Zhiwa Woodbury has accepted our invitation to offer a regular contribution to Extinction Radio and will present his first Climate Grief segment in which he expands on a theme from his great interview with Peter Melton a few weeks ago. Finally, Debba Kale Earnshaw will read Sam Carana's report on the effects of an ice-free Arctic, and Susan Livingston will present the Global Extreme Weather.
Of course we will feature our Poet Laureates of Doom, Rex Eagle, Debba Kale Earnshaw, and Benjamin the Donkey. My musical gem for this week will feature Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar by an unknown artist.
Extinction Radio is recorded in our global virtual studios and can be heard on ActivateMedia.org on Tuesday nights, 9pm US eastern time/6pm US pacific time/ 2am Wednesday UK time. We are archived at ExtinctionRadio.org.
