At Extinction Radio, we bear witness to the Sixth Great Extinction Event currently unfolding by welcoming and reflecting a diversity of viewpoints on how, when and why extinction is occurring. Using a mix of formats including interviews, presentations, poetry and music, we offer wisdom and compassion on navigating the demise of humanity and non-human species as well as advice and encouragement on living fully and with full awareness until we can no longer go on.
We are coming up on the 5th anniversary of Fukishima and Ivey Cone will have a conversation with Mimi German and Carolyn Baker about the ramifications of Fukishima. Michael Adzema will talk about natural and man caused events that can bring about the demise of our species. There is more out there than abrupt climate change. I will have a conversation with Paul Beckwith about the dying Phytoplankton and a lecture he attended presented by Andrew Revkin about communication. John Compost Cossham will present a conversation he had with a young son of one of his friends about species going extinct. Cathe' Fish will talk about Madrid's plans to add green space and put roof top gardens through out the city to alleviate urban heat waves. Finally Susan Livingston will present the Global Extreme Weather.
Of course we will feature our Poet Laureates of Doom, Rex Eagle, Debba Kale Earnshaw and Benjamin The Donkey. My Musical Gem for this week will feature the overture from Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring
Extinction radio is recorded in our global virtual studios and can be heard on Activatemedia.org on Tuesday night, 9pm Boston time/6PM Pacific time/ 2AM Wednesday UK Time. We are archived at Extinctionradio.com
