Bogota, Dec 19 (Prensa Latina) The Caño Cristales River, mostly known as the River of the Seven Colours, will be closed to the visit of tourists for 6 months, to facilitate the recovery of aquatic plants and the ecosystem of the river which has been deeply affected by a drought.
The access to the river will be permitted only after June 15, to facilitate the restoration of botanic species, such as Macarenia Clavigera, one responsible for beautiful colour tones along the river, said river authorities here Saturday.
Located at the Macarana Sierra Mountain, Caño Cristales treasures plants with the cours, red, yellow, green, blue, black and otehr combinations in its rocky bottom.
Specialists consider that in the rain station -which is starting in April- there will be a noticebale increase of the raiver's caudal, causing the integral restoration of the river.
