Germany plans to build 60,000 new wind turbines -- in forests, in the foothills of the Alps and even in protected environmental areas. But local residents are up in arms, costs are skyrocketing and Germany's determination to phase out nuclear power is in danger.

(13,685 posts)The profits from nukes are so great that they can buy just about anyone, including the press. Which they have.
They can't buy the bankers, tho. Nope. Bankers know the numbers too well, so they decline from private financing of nukes. Their biggest problem with nukes is "What to do with the waste?". Some people say they can store it safely in their own homes. Yes, they actually do. Can you believe that?
