E.ON must wait for approval on $3bn power plant

E.ON (FWB: EOAN) has submitted a revised draft to UK planning authorities for the proposed 700 MW Rampion Offshore Wind Farm off the southern English coast

The State Secretary has agreed to review the project after it made significant changes in the project model in response to environmental concerns.

The company has reduced the project area by one-fourth and reduced the number of turbines by 20. The new models proposed will feature turbines between 100 and 175.

E.ON expects the final decision to be made in summer 2014, and on the back of that has provisionally scheduled the commissioning in the year 2017.
