Just pour your laundry soap out of a box or bottle.

3. I make my own laundry detergent with Cascade dishwasher powder, Borax and washing powder.

I've been using the same two plastic laundry liquid bottles to make it in for about 20 years. That's 20 years worth of laundry bottles that didn't go into a landfill. And my detergent costs pennies.

One of the bottles broke, so I thought I'd treat myself and get a bottle of Tide which would become my new 20 year bottle when I was done with the contents. I was shocked that the Tide didn't work as well as my homemade stuff, and the Tide cost a fortune.

I had no idea. Unfortunately, I just bought a new box of dishwasher pods but I'll stop after this (never used the laundry pods)

7. I use powdered laundry soap that comes in a cardboard box.

I use bar soap in the shower and for shampoo when traveling. Every little bit helps.

I think I went to pods because the powder was not available one time. I am going to try out Tru Earth Eco Strips too.
