Maybe we really are living in a simulation

The Icon of the Seas cruise ship has completed construction in Finland and is entering the testing phase of production. The world’s largest cruise ship will be ready for passengers in January 2024.

It's 5 times bigger than the Titanic and will launch from Miami.

This is insane.

but these mega ships turned us off permanently. Too many passengers vying for their services. Its not relaxing when everything must be planned ahead to just get a special meal. Like vacationing in Manhattan. Not for the faint of heart.

From July 6, 2023 news:

The past three days were quite likely the hottest in Earth’s modern history, scientists said on Thursday, as an astonishing surge of heat across the globe continued to shatter temperature records from North America to Antarctica.

We need to be moving away from diesel burning monstrosities, not doubling down on them. I'm sure they sold out because everyone is into denial and distraction these days instead of facing reality. But there's no excuse for racing to the end of civilization like this.

Not to mention, playing babysitter for drunk parents isn't my idea of a vacation.

The only good cruise ships do, imo, is to keep these idiot "pigs at sea" off the roads & out of our national parks.

Wish they would just enjoy themselves in Vegas.*

*Confession: I actually enjoyed Vegas- the trip was compliments of my best friend yrs ago. (Actually been in Vegas twice, once on a road-trip to L.A. with my mother back in the '70's and then again with my bestie in '97. If you ever get a chance to see Vegas, do. The food in the casinos is delicious and relatively cheap when I was there.
And nope, didn't bet a penny on anything.
