2020 now 2nd lowest known Arctic ice extent, and probably over a week before the minimum

4.091 million sq. km; 2007 dropped to 4.155 (and that was on Sept 18th). Minima are usually from about Sept 10th to Sept 24th. It would have to be an extraordinary next couple of weeks to become the lowest, but it looks like it'll be comfortably the second.

Possible new record, but if so it wouldn't exceed 2012 by much - not much time left before the turn.
