Hugh Montgomery

I did a Google-search for Hugh Montgomery a few months ago while researching my all-paternal family tree, and I came across this environmentalist (medical doctor) of the same name:

Is anyone at DU familiar with him? Do you think he's factually incorrect in any way?

The video that I found a few months ago compared humans to a virus, but it was apparently removed since I saw it.

But everything he touched on in his talk is environmentally/scientifically sound. It's true that you could compare human beings with a virus when you consider how rapidly the number of humans has increased just in recent history and our profoundly destructive impact on other species, habitat, and climate. The earth is running a fever, trying to combat this infection of Homo sapiens. I've heard such comparisons made before. Was there something specific that Montgomery said that you wondered about?

... he mentioned the loss of top soil, and how we can't sufficiently replace it with manufactured additives.

I'm aware that microorganisms are important for healthy crops, but his "virus" speech about diminishing top soil was especially alarming to me.
