We used to horse-pack into the French Canyon/Humphreys Basin area in the eastern high Sierra, and I can recall at least one incidence of aerial stocking by helicopter. Pretty cool to be fishing an alpine lake and see a helicopter come in and dump a bunch of trout into the lake.
