We have been having record fire events every year for at least a decade now. Other than on this DU group I did not even see the fires in the mid-west even covered this last week.

We are seeing more and more extreme weather events, but the new administration is still denying anything is happening. I guess 4 years of drought in CA is no big deal when the fifth year is flooding torrents to over top dams and mudslides for everyone. And if el nino is restarting they will be back to droughts in just a few months.
And hey is it not nice to have 70 degree weather in February.

Nothing to see here. All is normal. Throw another lump of coal in the fire.

The idea that "If this were such a problem, wouldn't the big corporations and Bill Gates Brigade be doing something about this? They're not."

And they're not, for the most part. What's hammered home here is the idea that the global rich think that they'll be OK, and their families will be OK, and that's enough.

They won't be OK, and their families won't be OK, and it's not nearly enough.
