Related: About this forumHumanity decimating planetary wildlife – Nearly three-fifths of all vertebrates gone
http://sciencebulletin.org/archives/6987.htmlNearly three-fifths of all animals with a backbone fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles and mammals have been wiped out since 1970 by human appetites and activity, according to a grim study released on Thursday.
Global populations of vertebrates mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish have declined by 58 percent between 1970 and 2012, states a new report from World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Animals living in the worlds lakes, rivers, and freshwater systems have experienced the most dramatic population declines, at 81 percent. Because of human activity, the report states that without immediate intervention global wildlife populations could drop two-thirds by 2020.

Please note, they aren't saying 3/5 of all species are extinct, but rather 3/5 of the populations of animals have been killed off.

If we baseline the wildlife at the time of the introduction of the moldboard plow, we've done in 95% of it.
