At noon, President Trumka will host a book event for Clarence Darrow: Attorney for the Damned, with author John A. Farrell, congressional correspondent for the National Journal. Considered by many the nation’s greatest defense attorney, Darrow traded in a promising career as a railroad lawyer to defend poor workers, African Americans and social and political outcasts and to champion the great causes of his time. From 3-5 p.m., the authors and editors of Undocumented and Unafraid: Tam Tran, Cinthya Felix, and the Immigrant Youth Movement will join activist Dreamers to discuss the book, which book celebrates the lives of two leaders of the Dream Act student movement. Tam Tan and Cinthya Felix were UCLA graduates who were attending prestigious graduate schools at the time of their tragic deaths in 2010. Undocumented and Unafraid also charts the historic campaigns of undocumented students who have exhibited tremendous courage and determination throughout the country. (Please click to RSVP.)
