I Have joind a union!!!

I am now a part of UFCW 99!!! I have recently changed jobs and was offered a chance to Join. After seeing the opportunity's in it, I knew I had to. That and I had a feeling that I was going to get haunted, sort of speak, by my grandfather. He was a Shop Stuart for the Teamsters back in the day. He is the one that taught me about the good of Unions. I remember going to a dinner called "Truckers" with him every Sunday and sat there as I listens to the old Teamsters talk of the old days and what they went through.

I am GLAD that I did join! Now I know I am not going to get railroaded and that there is a group behind me!

AZ is a Right to work State. So I did not have to, but if I didn't I would have been stuck at minim wage for a tough job. being in the Union, I get $5 more after 60 days and through them after 6 months on the job instead of a year.

What do the letters stand for?

I kept getting University Federal Credit Union, no matter what I did to refine the search.

but the collective of unemployed towels has failed to organize and demand a fresh fabric softener sheet in every dryer-load along with a nickel for every quarter inserted at the laundromat.

Seriously though, congratulations!

and union jobs were always better. It was a matter of basic respect in how unionized workers are treated.

you know, work at the will of the employer. Employers say "just like you can exercise free will to quit for any reason, the employer can fire you for any reason." Bullshit!
Will a union, there must be "just cause" to fire a worker and it doesn't mean "just cause the boss doesn't like you."

Every rich actor, athlete, CEO, etc. has a labor contract. In the real working world, only union workers have contracts. It's pretty special to work with a contract that spells out your working conditions, inculding job safety, your compensation, and your benefits.

Congratulations!
