I just had a little brainstorm about whom we should run for President and
I don't dare put this up in GD for now. I listened to the weasel words from the Wall Street darlings on our side of the aisle, whom I won't mention right now, regarding the TPP. Why aren't the unions backing up one of their own candidates? Every union president has loads of experience administrating a democracy because that's what a union is. I love Gil Gerard, and I think he would be a fine President, but I think he's Canadian. However, there are many others out there equally qualified.
Instead of throwing your support especially money behind those known to be financed by the Wall Street Banks, put your money on and rally your troops behind a candidate that will work for labor and the middle class. Do it not only for the Presidential but for Congressional candidates running in 2016. We need to find a good replacement for Barbara Boxer and others as well. You union members have the power and structure that the rest of us don't.
I don't mean to steal any thunder from Omaha Steve, who is DU's union spokesperson, and it's been a long time since I had a job let alone a union job, but I'm begging union members to start a movement to find a candidate among their ranks that is not establishment Washington unless it's Bernie Sanders because he is on your side and the side of the average working class person. However, I think other candidates from the labor sector can be viable too.
Thank you for letting me air this and you can try to convince me that I'm wrong but I don't think I am.

(21,115 posts)there is that obstacle....at least 75% of which support Hillary Clinton.

(75,480 posts)class candidate running against her. Also, the unions have previously put their money behind Clinton, Obama and now probably Hillary again. I think their money, which is important, should go to a candidate that isn't going to sell them out to NAFTA, CAFTA and now TPP.
