NJ elevator plant closing; 50 workers face layoffs

MOONACHIE, N.J. (AP) - An elevator manufacturer is moving its New Jersey operation to Tennessee and laying off 50 workers.

Computerized Elevator Control Corp., ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas has filed a letter with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development regarding the move.

The Record reports (http://bit.ly/1kCjVPQ ) that the German-owned company, which has its U.S. base in Texas, will lay off the New Jersey workers Feb. 28.
