June 26 AFL-CIO Online Discussion: Building a Broad and Inclusive Labor Movement (Participate!)
Labor laws have weakened in the past few decades and union density has declined. But is something else going on? How can unions restructure to bring workers back into the fold? Are unions inclusive enough? Are unions not providing what Americas workers want or need? Are they too hard to get into?
This week were very excited to have Dorian Warren, professor of international and public affairs at Columbia University, lead a discussion on building a broad and inclusive labor movement as the AFL-CIO continues its crucial conversation about the future of working people and of unions at www.aflcio2013.org.
He will be moderating the online discussion on Wednesday, June 26 from 2-3 p.m. EDT.
Please join the conversation and forward this announcement to your network. We need broad and diverse voices to help shape the future of working people.
This is our last scheduled online discussion (there might be an encore) and the ideas generated through these conversations will be considered by our executive council and shaped into recommendations for action at the AFL-CIO convention in September.
Thank you for helping us convene a robust discussion on this important topic and please add your voice: www.aflcio2013.org.
