Community Health Systems first target of expanded nurses union

A newly combined union of nurses and teachers is launching a media campaign aimed at Franklin-based Community Health Systems.
The move comes on the heels of Thursday's affiliation between the 1.5 million-member American Federation of Teachers and the 34,000-member National Federation of Nurses.
The campaign, which criticizes CHS (NYSE: CYH) as focusing on growth rather than patient care, will kick off next week. The groups will unveil a website, www.chswatch.org (link goes live Monday), and begin running print ads in the Nashville market.
