Associated Press

ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York Attorney General's Office says settlements in two labor cases have produced $2.25 million for workers at companies based in New York City.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says 306 current and former employees of Flat Rate Movers are sharing $1.13 million, while about 100 workers of Mystique clothing stores have begun getting $920,000.

That follows a 2010 investigation authorities say showed Flat Rate failed to pay overtime though some movers worked up to 75 hours a week and items like uniforms, parking tickets and truck damage were unlawfully deducted from wages.
