More American workers are concerned about the prospect that their benefits will be reduced than are worried about being laid off, having their wages cut, or being able to work fewer hours, according to a new Gallup poll out Wednesday.

Indeed, 40 percent of respondents said that they were worried about their benefits, compared with 28 percent about wage reductions and 28 percent about layoffs.

Meanwhile, 26 percent were concerned about their hours at work being cut back, while only 9 percent expressed concern that their jobs would be moved overseas.

Concern over all these categories spiked after the financial crisis that struck in late 2008.
