OUR Walmart Members Come Together to Fight for Walmart Greeter’s Rights

With the support of UFCW Local 1657, six members of OUR Walmart - the Organization United for Respect at Walmart - recently came together to support Walmart greeter Richard Vincent in the Walmart Gulf Breeze store in Pensacola, Florida. After Richard was denied the seat his doctor said he needs to do his job, OUR Walmart member Angela Williamson staged a sit in, supported by fellow OUR Walmart members inside and outside the store. Their show of solidarity yielded results - Richard won his chair! Click here to read more about how OUR Walmart members and standing together to support each other.

Workers Unite to Rally for a Higher Minimum Wage

Workers around the country have been coming together to send a message that it's time to raise the minimum wage. At a time of record corporate profits and CEO pay, workers simply want to share in the success they make possible for their employers. It's time we once again lived in a country where people who work for a living don't live in poverty. As Marcus Edgerson, a Walmart employee and veteran, put it this week, "I fought for my country so we could live well, but then I come home and we're living in poverty. I can't take care of my family, and that's not right." To learn more about the movement to raise the minimum wage, click here.
