Visualizing the Extreme Concentration of Global Wealth
Nick Routley, December 26, 2018

In recent decades, extreme world poverty has declined significantly and many millions of people have joined the swelling ranks of the middle class – particularly in China.

While these economic shifts are positive, it’s the other end of the global wealth spectrum that attracts the most attention. A high degree of wealth creation is amassed by those at the top of the economic pyramid.
The Top-Heavy Wealth Spectrum

Today, slightly less than 1% of the world’s adult population occupies the $1M+ wealth range. Despite their small numbers, this elite group collectively controls 46% of the world’s wealth, valued at approximately $129 trillion.

Those at the top should have to be the ones to pay for getting the planet prepared to fight Climate Change. That is a global problem so that seems like a fair solution to me. They can afford it and probably contributed to the destruction of our global environment as they got richer.

It should be in ever free trade agreement. Each member state must institute 90% taxation on the top .7% of the wealthiest investors and on investors eligible to use the tribunal dispute resolution system.

I think we need a wealth tax, altho how do you assess a tax on a multi-million $ yacht listed under some other shell corporation?

Break through the propaganda and educate the electorate.
That will eliminate the GOP.

It will only get worse in the U.S. as the ultra rich gain more power to install more GOPers.
