Anti-Abortion Activist Placed in Charge of Computer Systems at Department of Labor

Last edited Thu Dec 21, 2017, 10:17 AM - Edit history (1)

This is the new head of IT at the Department of Labor.

A Message from our ASAM

Dear Colleagues,

Technology at the Department of Labor has changed significantly since I last worked here from 2005-2009 as the White House Liaison in the Office of the Secretary. There was no cloud email; no smart phones; and the Department operated a number of parallel networks and systems that were costly and hindered collaboration.

It is an honor to return now to the Department and serve as the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM). My goal is for OASAM to be DOL's shared service provider for mission-critical functions. A customer-focused shared services IT solution will allow DOL Agencies to operate more effectively and efficiently, and focus their resources on advancing DOL's mission.

I look forward to supporting the meaningful work you do. Thank you all for your dedicated public service.

Sincerely,

Bryan Slater
Assistant Secretary for
Administration and Management

Blech, but as Trump appointments go, this choice is not as destructive as it could be. Eugene Dec 2017 #1
