I follow it every day, but such a quick and big change in direction is fairly unusual, and I wonder what caused it.

or there was some rumor at the top causing institutional investors to dump equities and flock to something else where quick money is supposedly available.

The market is skewed six ways from Sunday.

I love the reasons they give for why institutional investors act like a damned school of fish.

And it's only big institutional investors who can determine the direction of the market in a single day.
