After printing delay, redesigned $100 bill to debut Tuesday

Benjamin Franklin's face-lift is to debut Tuesday.

Redesigned $100 bills are set to begin circulating this week after a printing delay pushed back the date by more than two years.

The note bearing Franklin's likeness has new security features intended to make the bill more difficult to counterfeit.

Among the most obvious changes is a three-dimensional security ribbon that runs through the currency with imprints of small bells and the figure "100."

1. Counterfeiters will just make their own paper now.

and it's fairly easy to do so with a commercial blender and a silk screen and a lot of practice.

However, at least this one doesn't look like somebody peed on it, like the 10.

It's not likely I'll see many of them here in NM, anyway. It's a poor state.

2. We need to switch to polymer notes, like Australia.

Much harder to counterfeit and more durable.
