Hi there,

My name is Aaron Peaslee, a psychology student at the University of Massachusetts Boston working as a research assistant for a study on HIV negative sexual-minority men (i.e. gay, bisexual, pansexual,). This study aims to gain knowledge about how men prevent HIV, with the goal of teaching others about how to prevent HIV despite difficult life experiences.

As members of the gay community, we are reaching out to established and respected sources of online gay lifestyle to spread the word about this study and gain a well-rounded sample of participants. The study is done in two phases:

Phase 1: There will be a 20-minute online screening questionnaire at www.surveymonkey.com/s/MensHealthStudyPhase1 which asks participants about life experiences, and offers a raffle for four $25 Amazon gift cards Every aspect of this survey will remain confidential.

Phase 2: Phase 2 of the study involves 60-minutre confidential Skype or phone interviews with willing participants who took part in the Phase 1 online. Participants get paid $25. We need 15 more men to partake in the interview phase.

How can you help? To spread the invitation for this study nationwide, we are asking for your assistance by sending the information to your entire membership. This way, members will be able to learn about the study and have the option to participate without obligation.

We are happy to answer any questions or comments, and would be willing to share updates about the research results with you and your membership. All research approved by the human ethics committee (IRB) at Suffolk University.

Thank you for your time, and we hope to hear from you soon. You can find a blurb and flyer to forward to members below.

Sincerely,

Aaron Peaslee
