Thanks for posting.

One thing that struck me: Kerry is portrayed as an appealing figure who people, across age, political and social groups, are drawn to.

Fast foward to 2004, and the media and RW did everything their power to portray him as exactly the opposite of who he really is.

Talk about attacking someone on their strenght!

...in 2004 because they knew he had had a history of being successful in standing up against a war that was wrong (Viet Nam). I well remember those early years, and this broadcast. In 2004, TPTB didn't want him to be successful a second time...against Iraq. JMHO.

About the Nixon Administration trying to ignore them:

"But all that they have done and all that they can do by this denial is to make more clear than ever our own determination to undertake one last mission--to search out and destroy the last vestige of this barbaric war, to pacify our own hearts, to conquer the hate and the fear that have driven this country these last ten years and more, so when thirty years from now our brothers go down the street without a leg, without an arm, or a face and small boys ask why, we will be able to say "Vietnam" and not mean a desert, not a filthy obscene memory, but mean instead the place where America finally turned and where soldiers like us helped it in the turning."

John Kerry, April 22, 1971 (SFRC)

He's been trying to 'help in the turning' for a long while now...

it clearly does give us a backward look at his mindset then. I don't see a different Kerry today, perhaps more skilled. He seems to have a path maybe not well traveled but a path.. Perhaps it would have been helpful some yrs back, but as he said the media looks a news for it entertainment value.
