Havana, Feb 8 (Prensa Latina) Colombian Foreign Minister, Maria Angela Holguin, on Wednesday ratified her country´s support to Cuba in the fight against U.S. economic, trade and financial blockade.

"You can be sure that we always will support you in that cause", Holguin stated during her official visit to Cuba.

Holguin expressed the Colombian stance shortly after her Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez, has thanked traditional support by Bogota to Cuba at the UN, requesting the end of the blockade, which on Tuesday officially had lasted for half a century.

"I think it's very positive the fact that the Celac have selected you for the presidency next year," said Holguin, who believed that the regional mechanism, which does not include the United States and Canada is an open space for transparent dialogue based on the well being of our peoples.

I guess it's usually not being reported on but the UN vote reflects Latin American sentiment.
