According to some, Chávez should have been dead since months ago...
This reminds me of one of my best friends that had cancer. She passed through 13 surgeries in less than 5 years, + chemo and radiotherapy. She's now cured (5 years without reminiscence) and she says that the worst thing during this difficult times were not recovering from surgeries or dealing with chemo and radio effects, but hearing people telling her she wouldn't make it. It must be really cruel indeed.

(7,362 posts)Cancer sucks, and Dr's are terrible at predicting it's course. My mother was given 6 months to a year. After three months they said "OMG, you are doing so well, cancer is gone". Then she died of a stroke shortly thereafter. Cancer blows.

(62,276 posts)Maduro would do well to have a decrepit Chavez sitting in a wheelchair beside him holding his fist up. With the occasional interruption to make a point or two.

(15,740 posts)Dan Rather was reporting earlier this year that Chavez is suffering from metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma and it was doubtful he could make it to the election.
He passed that milestone, but I sense things are looking a bit grim for him to hang on for much longer. We'll see.
