Number of Suspected Coronavirus Cases in Brazil Rises to 433


There are only two confirmed cases in São Paulo

The number of suspected cases of infection with the new coronavirus in Brazil rose this Monday (2) to 433, according to data from the Ministry of Health. On Saturday (29), there were 207 suspected cases, and on Sunday (1st), 252.

The state with the highest number of suspected cases is São Paulo, with 163 (on Sunday it was 136), followed by Rio Grande do Sul, with 73 (Sunday, 27), according to the information released on the Integrated Surveillance Platform in Health. The list follows with 42 suspected cases in Rio de Janeiro and 48 in Minas Gerais. Also, 162 cases were ruled out across the country.

So far, the country has two confirmed cases of coronavirus imported from Italy. The first, confirmed last Wednesday (26), is a 61-year-old man from São Paulo, who was in northern Italy on business.

Officials confirmed the second case on Saturday (29). He is a 32-year-old man who arrived in São Paulo on Thursday (27), on a flight from Milan. Both are being treated at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, in São Paulo.
