Cuban president welcomes US congressman




Havana, Oct 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel received James McGovern, a US Democratic congressman, who recently described his country's policy toward the island as erroneous.

During the meeting held on Saturday evening, there was an exchange on relations between the two nations and other issues of common interest, reported the national media.

The meeting was also attended by Matthew Bonaccorsi, McGovern's legislative assistant, and former Congressman William Delahun(t), while on the Cuban side there were, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and the U.S. General Director of the Foreign Ministry, Carlos Fernandez de Cossio.

The day before, the congressman also held a meeting with the Cuban Foreign Minister, who thanked him for his work and that of other members of the U.S. Congress to achieve a constructive work in favor of improving relations between the two countries.
