by Adriaan Alsema August 14, 2019
Former president Alvaro Uribe said Tuesday that he is the president of Colombia and senator.
The political patron of President Ivan Duque made the controversial claim in an interview with Blu Radio, which is run by the presidents brother in law.
Uribes claim adds to ongoing doubts about the effective authority of Duque, who critics have called Uribes puppet since before he became president in August last year.
During the campaign, Duque referred to his political patron as Colombias eternal president.
After taking office, Duque has mockingly been called underpresident by critics.

Argentine President-elect Alberto Fernández in today's press conference:
" (Macri) is the president until December 10th, and he should make it to December 10th - but he's the president, not merely a candidate."

But as any economist worth his/her salt could tell him, it wasn't joo-joo but Bushonomics that did his presidency in.
No magic there: You try to conjure a Bush-style bubble - you'll inevitably get a Bush-style crisis.
Especially in Argentina!

José López Rega!
Ta daaaaah!
My gosh, I never realized it's an old story, apparently! I am floored I didn't grasp this earlier!
Bushonomics. Can't have one part without the other, it appears. Hoping Macri will have the grace to get out of sight as quickly as Dubya did!
I'm still reeling about the realization that TWO heads of state have used these guys, but I do think it was pointed out earlier, it's easy to forget, the Reagans did, too.
Could be they all realize they are tempting fate to do such underhanded things, and are trying to get a hidden advantage!
On edit:
They are all right-wingers, too.
