What is Rubio trying to say? What changes?

Speculations please. Later we'll find out just how much the State Department worked with Cuba behind closed doors. The announcement about Visas today is an example. That came with US approval no doubt to keep things on an even keel. But all signs point to normalization being on the way but Marco Rubio here is speaking with the ultra right wing so what would they want in terms of changes?

For audio:

This past Sunday, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida appeared at a public event hosted by Unidad Cubana, the militant/hard-line Cuban exile organization. Below is the speech he gave in Spanish. I will be translating portions of the speech into English and updating this post below.

Yet, there is one portion of the speech that was very interesting. Sen. Rubio at one moment seems to suggest that he has confidential information concerning changes coming to the Cuban government. At these kind of events, someone always says that change is coming soon to Cuba and it is implied that the change will come with the death of Fidel Castro. But, Sen. Rubio's remark about having secret information is much more interesting (though he has been known to lie). That audio is at 8:31...

"It's already been many years of everyone thinking 'Well, at any moment this has to change.' I know you've heard that many times. But I promise you, for reasons that I can't express publicly, the reality is that the moment is coming."

Sen. Marco Rubio en el acto por el 10 de Octubre en MIAMI: “Yo les prometo que cuando Cuba sea libre nuestra generación va a volver”

Sen. Rubio at the Oct. 10th event says: "I promise you that when Cuba is free our generation will return".

*** I'm thinking that this points possibly to allowing US investment in Cuba, meaning that the exiles can have a stake via investments. Cuba needs investments and this could be mutually beneficial without granting outright ownership power to the enemy in Miami

Finally Sen concluded. Rubio with one of the most interesting passages in the evening: "I know that I have promised many times have you heard that Cuba must change. I promise you, for things that I can not explain, but I promise you that this will happen soon. And the main thing, that Fidel and Raul Castro are not who will write the history. My generation, those born in this country, which is poised to defeat Fidel Castro and write the story about Cuban truth ... I promise this to you, do not know the date or the year, but I promise that when Cuba our generation will be free to return to Cuba. "

If there are discussions ongoing secretly (this was conducted by JFK during the time running up to his assassination, only revealed in the last 10 years, and, of course, terminated with his death) it most surely wouldn't be leaked to silly people like Rubio, I'd think.

I'm hoping he's just trying to inflate the perception of right-wing Cuban authority in US-Cuban relations primarily to make himself look more important. His image may have been scuffed up a little due to his closeness to Rivera, who's in a tough spot for the time being.

Please add anything you run across when you hear it.

This is very interesting for multiple reasons.
