Caracas.- On Friday, at the Congress of the Liberal Network of Latin America held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the former governor of Puerto Rico, Luis Fortuño, confessed that former Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez tried to bribe him "with a briefcase of money" through his consul on the Caribbean island.
The information was revealed to the newsroom of El Cooperante by a Venezuelan businessman, who was present at the event. "Chavez asked the Venezuelan consul on the island to give me a briefcase of money to bribe me. I sent him out of the office. But other politicians of ours did accept Venezuelan money," were the words of Fortuño.

This is par for the course for Chavismo. Every friend they have in the Caribbean has been paid off. Cuba, to this day, gets free gasoline (that Venezuela buys elsewhere, due to the fact that it has no refineries that can manufacture gasoline) and tarry oil (Merey15) in return for their expertise in "state security matters".
