No humanitarian aid for Venezuelans unless... it is filtered through the military first.

Government prohibits foundations from bringing humanitarian aid to Amazonas

The access of foundations that wish to bring humanitarian aid to the inhabitants of the Amazonas state is prohibited by orders of the national government. Civilians who want to enter with donations also have the restricted passage.

Journalists from El Nacional Web tried to enter Puerto Ayacucho, in the company of several foundations that collected food, clothing and medicines to help those affected by the floods in the state of Amazonas. However, the officials prevented them from passing through the headquarters of Cunaviche, state Apure.

According to government officials, donations must remain in the command of the Comprehensive Defense Operating Zone (ZODI).

"We arrived at the headquarters of Cunaviche and Sergeant Jaime Rodríguez did not let us take humanitarian aid. They say that it must be left in the ZODI because they centralize aid and foundations can not pass, "explained Bryan Quintal, a member of the BKN Foundation.

Jesús Naranjo, spokesman for the Naranjo Foundation, described the event as regrettable, since his intention was to help those affected by the flooding of the rivers in Puerto Ayacucho.

"How is it possible that they deny Venezuelan help to Venezuelans? So much hard work to collect and by two guards and a general do not get to where we have to come for selfishness? "He asked.

Faced with the impossibility of reaching their initial destination, they decided to distribute humanitarian aid in the Llanos. "People need help, we see the photos. There are people who have not received help for two months. There are people who are out in the open, we had to go in barges to take food to a family with 12 children and nobody knows about them because they do not care. How sad, "he lamented.

Also, Quintal said that the inhabitants have not received food from the government for several months. "People were crying, they told us that no one helps them and they have three months without receiving the CLAP boxes," he said.

"Nobody wants them to know what people need," Naranjo added.

The scam is this: Anything of value it first siphoned off by the military high command. Then, whatever is left over is typically sold by the lower ranks for whatever they can get. Rarely is any sort of actual aid getting to those who need it without cost. Food especially.

Maduro will not allow any aid in, as it gives the appearance that Chavismo is a failure. He will however, accept cash donations that Maduro will personally assure gets to those in most need. (Good Chavistas!)
