Firm. Minister Néstor Popolizio said that decision, taken for lack of free elections in that country, is not under review. He called to join efforts so that citizens recover confidence.

Foreign Minister Néstor Popolizio ratified Peru's decision to withdraw Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro the invitation to participate in the 8th Summit of presidents to be held next week. He stressed that the Lima Group and the OAS seek a democratic solution to the serious political and humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.

"We do not endorse his government's decision to prevent free and fair elections that have legitimacy and credibility, a fact that denies the slightest notion of democracy and is an insurmountable impediment to participating in the Summit of the Americas process, " he said.
