Flexing their "muscle" in Caracas. They denounced the "U.S. created shortages of food and medicines" and the "flight of Venezuelans to other countries", while pledging their fealty for Nicolás Maduro... while wielding rifles and shotguns for emphasis. Because it isn't the wholesale corruption and incompetence of Chavismo... its the sanctions against 40 Chavistas and not allowing US firms to negotiate their bad debt is keeping Venezuelans hungry.

Colectivos are Maduro's shock troops. While it is illegal for private citizens to keep guns, it isn't illegal for Chavismo's militia. Not Venezuelas militia... CHAVISMO'S MILITIA.

It certainly helped when Chavez (then Maduro) paid them for their hard work in the name of La Causa. Now, since that well has dried up, the GNB and PNB look the other way as they shake down business owners with impunity.

Chavez supplied them with guns, money and motorcycles. All that Chavismo asks in return is the perpetuation of Chavismo... and to show up when a little arm twisting needs done... can't have that sort of thing done on camera by the national police or guard.
